101 PLAYSTATION VITA

The PlayStation Vita, also known as the PS Vita, is a handheld gaming console released by Sony in 2011 in Japan and worldwide in 2012 as the successor to the PSP. It introduced features that were ahead of their time, including dual analog sticks, a touchscreen, a rear touchpad and impressive graphics for a portable system. PS VITA 1000 even featured an OLED display and amazing build quality, hall effect joysticks, meanwhile the 2000 model had LCD screen but it has its own perks such as Micro USB port, slim design for those who want and bigger battery.

Even with powerful hardware, the PS Vita struggled to become a commercial success. PS VITA sold only est. 16 million units thru lifespan, compared to PSP est. 80 million.

The console has 1732 unique titles, you may say this is a lot, but it actually isnt, because 711 of these games are EXCLUSIVE to Japan, that means that they dont have English support which to be honest sucks for a lot of people, the 2nd problem Psvita had/has are Memory sticks PS VITA uses proprietary Memory cards instead of regular SDs, to prevent piracy issue like PSP had, because PSV sticks weren`t mass produced, they became expensive nowadays (from 4gb to 64gb), also the 64gb and 32gb version die more often.

AND THATS WHERE Custom firmware aka. CFW steps in. (amazing video about PSV jailbreak history) 

CFW allows us to us to use A LOT of amazing features, such as "legal backups of your games", SD2VITA or PSVSD which allows u to use ur SD inside game slot as a memory card (up to 512gb) or PSVSD (1100 models only) in which u replace 3g module with custom SD module, NATIVE PSP, PS1 emulation support, custom plugins, AMAZING HOMEBREW LIBARY with game ports, utilities (VITADB) from modders such as Rinnegatamante, PatnosD, TheFloW and so on.
